Our client, a rapidly growing martech startup is hiring for a Head of Direct Sales to join their expanding US team. The company is in the conversion rate optimization space, and working with enterprise level customers to help them engage with customers in a more meaningful way, resulting in conversion rate uplifts of approximately 30-35% (and a 95% retention rate). As a Head of Direct Sales, you will be responsible for growing and building the US business alongside another US based seller, running a full sales cycle from prospecting through to close. Strong experience of developing new business within enterprise level companies (and specifically marketing team) is essential for the role, and a network/rolodex that you can utilize would be a big advantage!
Responsibilities:
- Define, implement, and refine a direct sales strategy to drive revenue growth and expand our client’s presence in the enterprise market.
- Proactively identify and target high-value enterprise prospects. Use various channels, including cold outreach, networking, social selling, and inbound marketing leads, to build a strong pipeline of potential clients.
- Take a hands-on approach to generating new business by qualifying leads, conducting discovery calls, and presenting tailored solutions to enterprise customers.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial outreach to closing, including prospecting, lead nurturing, product demos, negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with C-level executives and decision-makers. Understand their business challenges and present our MarTech solutions as key drivers for their success.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging market opportunities to adjust strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align on messaging, product features, and customer needs, ensuring a seamless experience from lead generation to onboarding.
- Track and analyze key sales metrics, using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to monitor performance, forecast sales, and provide regular updates to the executive team. Use insights to refine sales tactics and improve effectiveness.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of B2B sales experience, with a strong background in direct sales and at least 3 years focused on the MarTech or SaaS industry.
- Demonstrated success in selling complex MarTech solutions to enterprise clients, with a deep understanding of their purchasing processes and decision-making structures.
- Proven ability to independently drive new business and close deals, with a strong focus on prospecting and generating high-quality leads.
- Expertise in leveraging various prospecting tools and methods (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM systems, email campaigns) to identify and engage with potential clients.
- Exceptional ability to build rapport and trust with senior-level stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and partner throughout the sales process.
- Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills, with the ability to convey complex solutions clearly and compellingly.
Salary: $120-150k base salary x 2 OTE
